Soon Chicagoans will be able to reference the Chicago Burial Permits: 1871-1933 microfilm in their own backyard, free of charge. The Chicago Genealogical Society is donating the entire set of film to Newberry Library in Chicago.
The anticipated cemetery book is finally available. Chicago Cemetery Records 1847-1863: sexton's reports and certificates, treasurer receipts, deeds, and undertakers' reports is a a 296-page book put together by the Chicago Genealogical Society. It is available for purchase through the Chicago Genealogical Society. It may also be hitting library shelves, so be sure to check your library or WorldCat.
